# Color

**Color** element provides a color palette for interactive color selection which enables the creation of configurators with custom color control for object materials.

The **Color** element operates through a [<mark style="color:blue;">variable</mark>](https://open-2v.gitbook.com/url/help.vectary.com/documentation/3d-configurator/variables-and-expressions). A variable is selected in the Color element settings and can then be referenced in any supported color-related field, including:<br>

* Material **Color**
* **Emission** color
* **Overlay** texture color
* Background color

**Tip:** the same variable can be assigned to multiple objects, allowing a single Color element to control their colors at once.

#### Color input

[<mark style="color:blue;">**Input**</mark>](https://open-2v.gitbook.com/url/help.vectary.com/documentation/3d-configurator/floating-ui/input) element includes a **Color** parameter.\
By specifying the same [<mark style="color:blue;">variable</mark>](https://open-2v.gitbook.com/url/help.vectary.com/documentation/3d-configurator/variables-and-expressions) used in a Color element, the Input element can be linked to the color configuration. This allows color values to be adjusted not only through the palette but also by entering precise **`RGB`** or **`HEX`** values, combining visual color selection with exact numeric control.
